Two destinations to compare

Choose the destination first, then confirm access, walking demands and transport for your date.

Pahuma

On the Calacalí–La Independencia road, this reserve combines cloud forest, orchids and waterfalls. Consider it for a nature walk in Quito’s northwestern corridor.

Before choosing: Ask which trail is open, how long it takes and whether its gradient and surface suit your group.

Nambillo · Mindo

The Nambillo River waterfall is one of Mindo’s nature attractions. Compare access to this waterfall with the Santuario de Cascadas circuit before choosing; do not assume one ticket covers every route.

Before choosing: Confirm the entrance, chosen route and whether a cable crossing, guide or additional tickets are needed.

Nambillo · Pichincha es Turismo ↗

These destinations are not retreat facilities or included excursions. Confirm opening, prices and conditions directly before travel. Swimming access is not guaranteed.

FAQ

Planning questions

Clear answers for decisions based on current information.

Are waterfalls located directly at The Cloud Forest Retreat?

Do not assume a waterfall is on the property. Ask which sites are currently recommended, where they are and how access works.

Are transportation, guides and entrance fees included?

Inclusions vary. Confirm transportation, guiding, entry fees, equipment, meeting point and payment directly before the outing.

Are waterfall trails suitable for everyone?

Suitability depends on distance, surface, elevation, weather, river conditions and individual mobility. Request current difficulty details and choose conservatively.

Can heavy rain change the plan?

Yes. Rain can affect visibility, roads, trail surfaces, water levels and access. Keep a lower-effort alternative and follow current local guidance.
